21st of November 2014: 3rd No1. for Guetta

From nothing to number 1–that sounds spectacular. Well, in 2014 we've seen this already seven times. Plus this week. The new single offered by David Guetta shots 0–1 in its first week available. It is the third number 1 hit for the French DJ and producer and his second in a row. Back in August this year it was lovers on the sun that occupied the Top spot for seven weeks. Current hit Dangerous finally teases the arrival of the album Listen and features once again singer Sam Martin.

Eight straight number 1 shots in one year–this feat is indeed kind of spectacular. But anything else than a record. In 2008 we had that situation also. Seems that music industry still knows how to launch huge demands and land immediate hits.

This week another impressive situation can't be mentioned as a record. Most weeks of the year we have had the best new entries starting outside the Top10 and even Top20. This current week there are three completely new songs inside the Top5. Besides the new David Guetta offering it is KWABS landing at number 4 with his debut Walk and veteran Herbert Grönemeyer seeing his 36th chart entry Morgen starting at number 5.

Last time we had three new singles entering the Top 5 was back on May 23rd this year when CRO launched his first number 1 single Traum directly at the top followed by Eurovision runners up The Common Linnets that had their Calm After Storm entering number 3 and winner Conchita Wurst storming to number 5 with Rise Like A Phoenix. Additionally this week also saw Ed Sheeran's Sing landing at number 7 and Mark Forster's Au Revoir starting its chart life at number 10.

The story of Helen Fischer finally approaches an end, isn't it? This week Atemlos durch die Nacht dips out the Top 20 for the first time since December 2013. It is the 57th chart week for the song and the 53rd consecutive.
