May 19th 17: Static Top 8 + Failing Big Music Events

Although the past week was packed with massive music events first time since three years the complete top 8 looks same as the week before. So #1 also is the same. It is the fourth week for Despacito by Luis Fonsi Ft. Daddy Yankee (feat. Justin Bieber). The song is #1 in 13 countries all over the world including newly in Australia, the USA and Canada. Plus a 17th week in Spain. Bam!
Ed Sheeran amongst these eight with two songs Shape Of You at #3 and Galway Girl at #7 now collects 41st top 10 week this calendar year alone. He now approaches the result of chart heroes like Felix Jaehn in 2015 (43 weeks), Justin Bieber in 20116 (44 weeks) and Pitbull in 2011 (45 weeks).

New inside the top 10 only is There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back by Shawn Mendes at #9. It is the third top 10 hit for the Canadian singer following Treat You Better from past summer.
With the arrival of Shawn Mendes there are four songs involving Canadians (if one count the #1 remix as full appearance) – it is a new height for artists from the North American country.

Back to top 10 status Symphony by Clean Bandit Featuring Zara Larsson goes. It is the third top 10 week for this song.

Highest new entry is the second album teaser from KC Rebell Summer Cem. Murcielago comes in at #14 and is for both the highest rank ever achieved. KC Rebell by this sets a new record: It is his 26th chart entry–none of them ever reached top 10 status. The collabo album Maximum will be released mid June. I guess than KC Rebell will get his first top 10 hit at all.
So far also first teasing song Nicht jetzt performs still quite well at #40 in its fourth chart week.

The ultimate #1 on the album's list is the new collection by Helene Fischer. She also can launch two single tracks inside the song's top 20: Herzbeben lands at #19 and Flieger at #20–these are only the third and fourth top 20 hit for the German schlager superstar. With "only" three album tracks inside the current song's list the album performs as successful as the 2013 collection Farbenspiel but more weak than the TV show in May 2013 which gained four simultaneous hits.

The other big event of the week was the Eurovision Song Contest taking place in Kiyv. Winner on sales is a lady who finished the contest fourth. German televotings saw her on a second place–the German jury did not mention her at all. So Blanche from Belgium is the secret winner as her City Lights performs best by entering the charts at #37. Still her result is left behind the past #4 from Belgium Luc Nottet who saw his Rhythm Inside peaking at #21 two years ago.
The sensation of the contest Salvador Sobral comes in at #43 with Amar Pelos Dois. German televoters liked him the most, the German jury set him #2–on sale he lands exactly there.

Biggest gainers of the week are Maggie Lindemann who's Pretty Girl (remixed by Cheat Codes) jumps 34 places to #37 and Mark Forster who sees his Sowieso jump 36 places to #60. Both songs do this in the second chart week.
Biggest loosers of the week are "superstar" Alphonso Williams tumbling 21–70 and–indeed–bibi h. crashing from #9 down to #86. Well–both do have a second chart week at all. That's a feat.
